J/ca 340/4 against Leeward Islands Hurricanes

The Jamaica Scorpions were 340/4 up to press time on the second day of their West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) regional four-day, fifth round match against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Warner Park, St Kitts.

Resuming on their overnight score of 33-0, in reply to the Leeward Islands Hurricane’s first innings score of 243 all out in the day/night encounter, the Jamaica Scorpions were indebted to half centuries from openers John Campbell and Shacaya Thomas and middle order batsmen Jermaine Blackwood and Brandon King.

Campbell top scored with 88, King was unbeaten on 84, while Blackwood made 55 and Thomas 54.

Devon Thomas is not out on 37.

Rakheem Cornwall has so far taken two wickets while Gavin Tonge and Alzarri Joseph took the other two wickets to fall.

In the Leewards first innings score of 243, Jahmar Hamilton scored 103 while Cornwall made 66.
