SASOD’s ‘Blackout’ on tonight

Blackout comes to the Dutch Bottle Café tonight, but it’s the enjoyable kind.

The Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD) presents its Blackout: All-Black Affair party from 9 pm.

20160430BlackoutAccording to SASOD, DJ Kerry is on board to keep persons energized by playing the best hits in all genres of music. Added attractions include Blackout cocktails and shots. Partygoers are urged to arrive decked out in their best black attire as special prizes will be given away for the “Best All-Black Swag.” Patrons will also receive free glowsticks on entry.

Limited tickets for the event cost $1,000 and can be bought from the SASOD Office, 169 Charlotte Street; Oasis Cafe, 125 Carmichael Street; That Look Boutique, 235 South Road; Java Coffee Bar, 154 Charlotte and King streets and D & D Bar, Mon Repos. Admission at the door is $1,500.

All proceeds from this fundraising event will to SASOD’s LGBT Community Centre Fund to build a safe space and shelter for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Guyanese.

There will be HIV testing and counselling on site which is supported by USAID’s Advancing Partners and Communities (APC) – Guyana Project.
