The value of craftsmanship

Those who know me well are aware of my deep appreciation for millinery and the craftsmanship that surrounds it. I think this interest stems from being completely fascinated by the women I admire and find interesting. Princess Diana happened to be one of those women.

20141115the last wordIn today’s fast-paced fashion environment fascination with and respect for craftsmanship is depreciating. With clothes becoming disposable and as goods become cheaper by way of economies of scale and globalization, people tend to question value more. Products which cost higher than average can appear unnecessary, since having something new is apparently more popular than investing in quality.
