Under17 footballers stun Haiti 3-2

Guyana National U-17 secured their first win in the International Tournoi Paul Chillan Football Tournament in Martinique, defeating Haiti  3-2 yesterday.

Following defeats to Guadeloupe and Martinique by 0-1 and 1-2 margins respectively, the junior Golden Jaguars unit secured the win through goals from Paiomak Warriors forward Orvil Daniels, Zion Gray of Eastveldt and Jeremy Garrett of Fruta Conquerors.

According to an official release from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) “Daniels scored in the first half with a curling free kick from the edge of the area. Gray doubled the lead with a peach of a finish after latching on to an inch-perfect pass from US-based captain Joshua Ferreira. Haiti pulled one back after a defensive mix-up, but Garrett sealed a memorable victory following a stunning free kick in the dying minutes of the game”.
