Tropical Storm Nate’s winds rapidly weaken over Alabama

  NEW ORLEANS,  (Reuters) – Tropical Storm Nate rapidly weakened as it moved over Alabama today, although the fast-moving former hurricane rattled the doors of Biloxi’s casinos and left gambling floors and highways in the region flooded after making its landfall in Mississippi.

Complete mercury-free mining is ‘fool’s goal’ –GGDMA

Despite President David Granger’s recommitment to the Minamata Convention and eliminating the use of mercury by 2027, the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA) has said it will not support the complete discontinuation of the chemical’s use since it will have significant impacts on the sector and, by extension, economy.

The Royal Tern (Thalasseus maximus) is found along ocean beaches. The adult Royal Tern has a slender orange bill, a short, forked tail, a black narrow, shaggy band around the back of head and a white forehead.
