State to pay Dipcon US$2.2m

The Government of Guyana will have to pay the US$2.2 million awarded to Trinidad road construction company Dipcon in 2015, after losing its bid to appeal the judgment before the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

GBA’s U16 competition gets underway Saturday

After partnering with the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) to box off two successful tournaments earlier in the year, the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) will once again brand and sponsor the final competition which will be staged on Saturday.

Houston Secondary School gets assistance from Banks DIH Ltd.

Banks DIH Limited and the Coca Cola Company are partners in promoting heathy lifestyle in schools through physical activity and, as part of the initiative, Houston Secondary School on the East Bank of Demerara has benefited through the rehabilitation of its basketball backboard and donations of basketballs and jump (skipping) ropes, a release from the company stated.

A little over a week ago, secondary school teacher and actress Kescia Branche was found unconscious at the side of the road; she died a few days later without regaining consciousness and even now detectives are retracing her last steps so as to find the person or persons responsible and bring them to justice.
