Linden mother stabbed to death

A manhunt is underway in Linden for a man who is suspected to have fatally stabbed his wife this morning.

Police identified the victim as Shanika Elliot-London, 37, a clothes vendor and a mother, of Lot 1206 Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden.

According to a statement issued by the Guyana Police Force, at around 10.30 am, Elliot-London, who was drenched in blood, ran across to her neighbour for help but collapsed outside of the yard. Neighbours then rushed her to the Mackenzie Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said Elliot-London’s body bore multiple stab wounds, while a blood-stained knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found at the scene.

According to police, the woman’s husband fled the scene.

London was said to be the mother of a two-year-old.
