Charlestown woman remanded over 106 grammes cannabis

A Charlestown woman was on Wednesday remanded to prison after she was charged with being in possession of 106 grammes of cannabis.

Tiffany Sultan, 23, made an appearance in the courtroom of Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, and was read a charge where police alleged that on January 9, at Broad Street, Charlestown, she had in her possession 106 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking,

Sultan, a vendor, denied the allegations levelled against her by the police.

The court heard that the file in relation to the matter is incomplete, and the defendant had given the police a caution statement where she had admitted to selling cannabis.

The woman was denied bail by the Chief Magistrate and is expected to make her next court appearance on January 23.
