The PI continued before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan with the mother of the deceased, Champa Seonarine, being cross-examined by attorney Peter Hugh, who represents Narine.

Subsequent to his cross-examination of Seonarine, Sunita took the stand to give her evidence.

She too was cross-examined by Hugh.

The court also heard the cross-examination of the final witness, Inspector Suraj Singh, in an ongoing voir dire (trial within a trial).

Narine and Compton were charged with the murder of Babita, which occurred on November 4, 2010.
