The matter, which was heard by Magistrate Fabayo Azore, resulted in a sentence being handed down on an absent King, who had been granted bail earlier in the trial.

It was stated by the Magistrate, that the prosecution through the various witnesses proved that the defendant was going at a fast rate. This evidence was supported by the fact that Anthony had been thrown some distance away.

Magistrate Azore noted that the bus moved from one side of the road to the other carriageway when the accident occurred.

Considering the fact that there was a death, the severe damage done to the bus, and the need to send a strong message to other persons, King was sentenced to three years by the Magistrate and will have his licence suspended for the said period.

King was represented by attorney Glenn Hanoman in association with Everton Singh-Lammy.
