Accused Bent St ganja trafficker remanded

A 36-year-old man was remanded to prison on Thursday after he was charged with being in possession of half a pound of cannabis.

Kerwin McKenzie

Kerwin McKenzie is alleged to have been in possession of 260 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, on February 7th, at Lot QQ Bent Street.

After the charge was read by Magistrate Judy Latchman, McKenzie denied the allegation.

Bail was objected to by the prosecutor, who stated that no special reason was presented by the defendant for bail to be granted.

As a result, McKenzie was remanded to prison until February 16th, when he is due for a hearing before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
