According to police prosecutor Deniro Jones, the police file is complete and 31 witnesses are set to testify.

Magistrate McLennan subsequently remanded Roberts to prison until March 10 for a trial date.

Sergeant, called ‘Harry,’ 19, of Festival City, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown was shot once to his head and reportedly dumped outside the Woodlands Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The Guyana Police Force subsequently said that due to the availability of CCTV footage, investigators were informed of the possible suspects who were involved in the altercation, prior to rounds being discharged.

Reports had revealed that one of the suspects was Roberts, who was a former bodyguard for convicted drug lord Shaheed Roger Khan.

Sources told Stabroek News that on the day of the shooting there was an argument inside the club, which was then taken to the road. Although Sergeant was not a part of the argument he was shot while seeking cover when shots were fired.

Roberts, along with two others, is also currently on remand after being charged in January in connection with the discovery of guns and ammunition during a police raid at a John Street, Campbellville home.

The men were allegedly busted with an AK-47 rifle and 7 .68×39 rounds of ammunition in their possession on January 22, 2017 at Lot 81 John Street, Campbellville.
