Police are investigating a shooting in the vicinity of the Stabroek/ South (Route 41) bus park on Saturday night, which left a vendor nursing gunshot injuries.
The victim of the shooting has been identified as Leon Blake, 18, of North East La Penitence.
According to the police, the shooting occurred about 10.25pm at the bus park on Croal Street.
From investigations, Blake and his shooter had an “exchange of words inside of a minibus, whilst they were passengers and as they disembarked the vehicle, the suspect drew a handgun and shot the victim on his left hand and left thigh, after which he escaped.”
Blake was immediately rushed to the GPHC where he was treated and admitted in a stable condition, police said.
The suspect has not yet been apprehended.
