Brazilian man dies in Micobie mining accident

The Ministry of Natural Resources says that a Brazilian man lost his life in a mining accident in Micobie, Region 8 (Potaro-Siparuni) last evening.
Information reaching the Ministry revealed that the man was a worker on a six-inch dredge, which was said to be operating without permission of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) at the time. The Ministry of Natural Resources expresses its sorrow and regret at this latest mining fatality.
