Corentyne cattle farmer held with unlicensed firearm

A fifty-six year old cattle farmer of Letter Kenny Village, Corentyne, Berbice was on Wednesday afternoon arrested with an unlicensed .32 Pistol and five matching rounds, the police said yesterday.

Police ranks acting on information swooped on the suspect’s home at about 15:15hrs and conducted a search in the two-storey structure, during which the illegal weapon with live ammunition was found hidden under a suitcase in the lower flat.

The farmer is to be charged.
