Poultry farmer held with 11 pounds cocaine

A poultry farmer is now in police custody after 11 pounds of cocaine was found in his car yesterday afternoon.
According a police press release, around 4:10 pm, ranks from ‘G’ Division were conducting a road block exercise on the Aurora Public Road, Essequibo Coast where they stopped and search a 30-year-old poultry farmer of Canal Bank, Port Kaituma, Region 1 and San Souci, Wakenaam Island, and found 11 pounds of suspected cocaine.
He was subsequently arrested and taken into police custody and has since admitted to owning the substance. He is expected to be charged sometime next week.
