Teacher, farmer remanded over ganja trafficking

A teacher and farmer were on Friday last charged with trafficking in narcotics at the Wales Magistrate’s Court and remanded to prison.

The accused men Linden Gordon also known as ‘Priest’, a farmer of 5118 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden and Jad Atkinson, 18, a teacher of Aishalton Village, South Rupununi appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse on separate charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking  and pleaded not guilty.

According to a police press release, Gordon was arrested in Amelia’s Ward last Wednesday after he was found with 93 grammes of cannabis, while Atkinson was as arrested on Thursday last at Mabura Check Point 50 grammes of cannabis.

The men were remanded to prison until May 24, when they will appear in the Linden Magistrate’s Court for trial.
