The young man was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge and he was remanded to prison.

Subsequent to hearing from the prosecutor that the case file was incomplete, the Chief Magistrate remanded Rodrigues and adjourned the matter to July 4th, when it will be heard at the Acquero Magistrate’s Court.

Around 6.30 am on March 17th, Changa was walking to his farm when he was allegedly approached by Rodrigues, who dealt him multiple chops about his body. Changa’s left hand and his feet were severed in the attack.

The police were alerted and they subsequently arrested Rodrigues, who had allegedly threatened to kill the businessman.
