It is alleged that Heeralall, on July 31, 2016, at La Penitence Public Road, Ruim-veldt, Georgetown, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Wanita Heeralall, with intent to commit murder.

Heeralall, who ap-peared before Magistrate Judy Latchman, was committed to stand trial for the attempted murder charge after her examination of evidence led by the prosecutor through the witnesses.

Magistrate Latchman after committing the defendant to stand trial at the next practicable sitting of the Demerara Assizes, did not revoke his $600,000 bail.

Heeralall, of Anna Regina New Housing Scheme, Essequibo, will remain on bail until his matter is called before the High Court.

The charge against the defendant stems from a confrontation between the couple at the market, where Ishwar allegedly dealt Wanita, of Laing Avenue, George-town, several chops to her body, including her forehead.
