The charge against Insanally stated that on October 7, 2016 at Diamond Housing Scheme, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Zulficar Hussein and stole a quantity of cash and other items, including gold jewellery. The items had a total value of $2.3 million.

During his first appearance Insanally had denied the charge which led to the commencement of the trial in relation to the matter.

However, during his appearance before Magistrate Bess yesterday, Insanally, of Diamond, changed his plea to guilty.

Subsequently, Magistrate Bess sentenced the defendant.
