Police present musical instruments to ‘E’ Division scouts

The Guyana Police Force on Monday presented members of the ‘E’ Division scouts team with $2.5M worth of musical instruments.

Woman Assistant Commissioner of Police, Maxine Graham (fifth from right) handed over the instruments ‘E’ Division Commander Senior Superintendent Fizal Karimbaksh in the presence of the force Director of Music, Charmaine Stuart and some scouts.

Woman Assistant Commissioner of Police, Maxine Graham made the donation to Commander of ‘E’ Division, Fizal Karimbaksh, who has direct responsibility for the scouts of the division.

Among the items handed over were one base drum, two trombones, one saxophone, one alto saxophone, two clarinets, two trumpets, two flutes and accessories for the instruments such as a cleaning kit, oil, straps and sticks.

Graham during her brief remarks urged the scouts to make good use of the instruments and to care them. She said training will be provided to the scouts by ranks of the Guyana Police Force band at least two times a week so that they can fully understand how to operate them.

Karimbaksh during his brief remarks said that after the youths are fully trained, ranks from the force’s band room would not have to travel to the Division for certain events since the scouts will get the job done.

The force is expected to make a similar donation to the scouts of ‘G’ Division this week.
