A young man was yesterday remanded to prison by a city magistrate, after he was accused of robbing a soldier.

Bradford Wright

“I was at home when this robbery happen. I ain’ know nothing ’bout robbing nobody,” were the words shouted by 18-year-old Bradford Wright, who was charged with the crime.

It was alleged that in the company of another person and armed with a metal pole, he robbed Kenroy Lawrence of a $45,000 phone on April 2 at the Georgetown seawall.

Wright, of 153 James Street, Albouystown, denied the charge.

Bail was objected to by the prosecutor, who told the court that Wright was positively identified by the complainant.

Magistrate Judy Latchman later remanded him to prison and adjourn-ed the matter to May 29.
