The children were victims of an accident on Wednesday around 8.30pm at Middle and Waterloo streets, Georgetown.

Corbin, who sustained head injuries and a broken leg, showed some signs of consciousness yesterday, and is continuously being monitored by doctors in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he remains a patient in a critical but stable condition.

His siblings, Nikita Corbin, 9, Nicholas Corbin, 12, and Nikolai Corbin are listed in stable condition.

Lavern Corbin, the mother of the children, who was transporting her children in a car, told Stabroek News that she was proceeding on Waterloo Street heading towards Lamaha Street, when the driver of the Toyota Tundra pick-up, who was waiting to turn into Middle Street, reportedly lost control and collided with her car.

Due to the impact, the car spun around before coming to a halt, she said.

The driver of the Tundra was taken into custody following the accident, and was subsequently released.
