Cops treating Nandy Park lumber owner’s death as suicide

A post-mortem examination performed on the remains of businessman Parbhudyal `Cecil’ Persaud, who was found dead in his yard on Sunday, confirmed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound to this head. A police source confirmed that Persaud’s death is now being treated as a suicide.

Persaud, 59, a lumber yard owner of Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara, was discovered dead in his yard on Sunday morning by his wife.

He was found lying motionless at the southern end of his yard with a gunshot wound to his head. A gun was found near his body.

He reportedly went missing on Saturday and searches by relatives proved futile.
