Kuru Kuru man accused of unlawful wounding

Accused of inflicting life threatening injuries on another man, a Kuru Kuru resident was yesterday granted bail after being read the charge.

It is alleged that Ron Walker, 24, on June 2, at Industrial Site, unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Jahanlall Mohanlall.

Walker denied the allegation levelled against him.

The prosecutor told the court that the injuries sustained by the complainant are life threatening and that yesterday he went back to the hospital to undergo surgery.

Attorney Darren Wade, who represented the accused, requested that his client be granted bail. He noted that Walker had come to court on his own free will.

Magistrate Leron Daly granted the attorney’s request and released the defendant on $150,000 bail.

The matter was then adjourned to June 23.
