South man, alleged cell phone thief on $35,000 bail

A South Ruimveldt resident was yesterday granted $35,000 bail after he denied robbing a woman of a cell phone.

In the courtroom of Magistrate Fabayo Azore, a charge was read to Alvin Moore, 32, of Lot 142 El Dorado Avenue, South Ruimveldt, which stated that he, on June 19, at Regent Street, stole a Samsung galaxy cell phone, worth $67,000 from Sunita Ramcharran. Moore pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to Police Prosecutor Simone Payne, the police’s file on the matter was incomplete. Payne also did not object to bail being granted to the accused.

Moore, who is a father of three, was granted bail. His matter was adjourned until July 2.
