Delmar Booker, who is accused of breaking into a school and stealing $1.5 million in computers and other items, was yesterday refused bail by a city court, which heard that he had similar charges pending against him.
Booker was read three charges when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly. It was alleged that between February 25, 2015 and February 19, 2016, at D’Urban Backlands, Booker broke and entered the Lodge Secondary School and stole 10 Dell desktop computers, valued at $1,650,000, and nine laptop batteries, valued at $28,000, which was the property of the Ministry of Education.
He was also charged with robbing Tishawn Shaw and Brian Griffith each of a $5,000 phone while armed with a gun on February 19, 2016.
Booker denied the three charges.
The prosecutor later objected to bail being granted, while highlighting the fact that Booker has matters of a similar nature pending before two courts. Magistrate Daly then remanded the accused to prison and adjourned the proceedings until July 14.
