Four years’ jail, $5M fine for man who swallowed cocaine pellets

Eaion Kwesi Kaman Le Black, who tried to board a plane to Barbados after swallowing 71 cocaine pellets, will be spending the next four years in jail.

Le Black, 35, of 101 Ogle Street, Triumph, East Coast Demerara, was also fined $5,120,010, which is equivalent to three times the street value of the drug.

Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly handed down the sentence after Le Black pleaded guilty to the charge that between July 3 and July 4, at Woodlands Hospital, he had 774 grammes (equivalent to 1.7 pounds) of cocaine for trafficking.
