When Stabroek News visited Success North, some of the neighbours of Tula, said that they heard a lone gunshot but were too afraid to go outside. They also related to Stabroek News that this was not the first time the businessman was robbed. One neighbour who spoke to Stabroek News on the condition of anonymity, said that Tula was robbed about three or four months ago. The neighbour said that it was nothing serious and doubted the matter was ever reported.  The residents who said they are also fearful for their lives, stated the need for police patrols along the East Coast corridor, especially in their community at nights.
