A policeman, accused of corruptly obtaining money, had the charge against him dismissed yesterday after the complainant opted not to give evidence.
Lance Corporal Rohan Persaud, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown, was alleged to have corruptly obtained $40,000 for Constable 20277 Higgins and woman police officer B Sutton as an inducement to forego charges against Chanderpaul Bissoon on May 9, at the Timehri Police Station.
