A man was killed and three others are hospitalised following an accident on the Calcutta, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara public road yesterday afternoon.
The dead man has been identified as Winston Small while those hospitalised are Lawrence Semple, 46, Jeret Huntley, 34, and thirteen year old Jason Allen.
Details of the accident at press time last night were unclear and there was no official word of the accident from the police. Public Relations Officer Jairam Ramlakhan when contacted said he was awaiting information.
However, a relative of Semple said that he and the two others were travelling to Berbice when the accident occurred on the Calcutta public road.
Stabroek News learnt that the men were in a four-vehicle crash involving a minibus, a truck and two cars. Several others sustained minor injuries and were treated at the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital.
