Roy’s Bakery robbed, owner’s car stolen

Two armed bandits on Monday evening stormed a North Ruimveldt bakery, where they held a sales assistant at gunpoint before fleeing with the proprietor’s vehicle.

The attack occurred around 9.30 pm when two men, armed with handguns, entered Roy’s Bakery located at Lot 2167 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, and demanded cash from the sales assistant on duty.

They also ordered the proprietor’s wife, Odessa Frank, to hand over the keys to his car, a Toyota Raum bearing licence plate number PVV 520, which they used to flee the scene.

The sales assistant reportedly went to the cash register and one of the men followed her and ordered Frank to hand over the keys to the vehicle. The sales assistant handed over the keys and $1,500 in cash to the bandits, who made good their escape.

During their escape, the bandits discharged a round in the air. However, no one was injured.

Investigations are ongoing.
