A 55-year-old man was crushed to death yesterday afternoon by the bulldozer he was operating at Mahdia, Region 8.
Dead is Kennard Craig, a heavy-duty machinery operator of Number # 67 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Commander of ‘F’ Division, Ravindradat Budhram confirmed the incident which occurred around midday at Seven Miles, Mahdia.
Reports revealed that Craig was operating the bulldozer when he attempted to climb a small hill. During the ascent, the machine reportedly “cut off” and he requested the assistance of a serviceman to restart it.
Thereafter, the bulldozer began to roll backwards and trapped Craig’s legs resulting in his death.
