Teen remanded over gun-point robbery

A teen is now a remanded prisoner after he was accused of the gun-point stick up of a man.

Dwayne Castillo, 17, was remanded to prison last Friday on the charge that on June 17, at Cooper Street, Albouystown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Patrick Dundas of three gold chains, valued $345,000.

Castillo denied the charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly in Georgetown.

The police prosecutor objected to the accused being granted bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the offence and the fact that a gun was used in the course of the robbery.

Magistrate Daly subsequently remanded Castillo to prison and the matter was adjourned until August 25.
