Lethem man charged with obtaining $15,000 in booze through fraud

A man was yesterday granted his release on bail after he denied fraudulently obtaining $15,000 in alcoholic beverages.

Antonio Rodrigues, of Central Lethem, was read a charge which stated that he obtained $15,000 in alcoholic beverages by fraud from Abiola Headley at Stabroek Market. Rodrigues, 43, denied the charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Judy Latchman in Georgetown.

There was no objection to bail being granted by the prosecution and as a result the magistrate granted the accused his release on $20,000 bail.
