Craig man found at koker died by drowning

The man who was pulled out of the Demerara  River near the Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD) koker during last week died by drowning.

The dead man has been identified as Rocky Narine, a resident of Lot 11 B Grant Scheme, Craig, EBD.

Information reaching Stabroek News revealed that Narine’s body was discovered floating near the koker around 8am last Wednesday.

The discovery was made by the sluice operator who had just arrived at work and was about to start his daily duties.

The police were alerted and Narine’s body was taken to the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour where it was positively identified.

Narine reportedly worked as a caretaker of a house in the community which he occupied alone.
