A pump attendant was on Thursday evening robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash by a lone gunman at Friendship, East Bank Demerara, and two persons have since been arrested.
Stabroek News was told that the pump attendant was performing her duties at a gas station at Friend-ship, when the gunman rode up on a motorcycle. She was relieved of the cash she had in her possession and the gunman fled the scene.
A report was made to the police, who, after reviewing CCTV footage, arrested the suspect.
A police source said that a motorcycle allegedly used in the commission of the crime was found in possession of the female acquaintance of the suspect and she was also taken into custody. Investigations are ongoing.
