Port Kaituma murder trial set

The trial of Michael Britton, for the murder of Renford Williams is set to commence this morning before Justice James Bovell-Drakes and a 12-member mixed jury at the High Court in Georgetown.

The indictment against Britton, called “Rasta Man,” is that on July 25, 2013, at 10 Miles Backdam, Port Kaituma, North West District, he murdered Williams called “Kamarang.”

The accused has denied the charge.

Representing Britton are attorneys Ronald Burch-Smith and Keoma Griffith.

The state’s case, meanwhile, is being presented by Prosecutor Mandel Moore.

A post-mortem examination conducted on Williams’ body, revealed that he died as a result of a ruptured spleen due to blunt trauma.

He was 26 years old at the time of his death.
