GTA hosts tourism fair

The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) yesterday held its annual tourism fair at the Stabroek Square to promote Tourism Awareness Month, which is celebrated in November.

The GTA set up a booth at the square and had available fliers detailing promotions available from tour operators and accommodation providers within the tourism sector, in commemoration of Tourism Awareness Month.

Some of the packages available include specials for visits to the Kaieteur Falls, the Mahaica River Birding Tours, Aerial Tours, Essequibo River Tours, Safaris and the Provotique Walking Tours. “So we have something for everyone across all of Guyana,” Kamrul Baksh, Senior Product Development Officer of the GTA said yesterday.

The GTA also has several major activities planned for the remainder of Tourism Month, including a Scavenger Hunt, slated for November 18, and which will begin at Main Street. Registration details will be available via Facebook.

The much touted Guyana Restaurant Week, which allows patrons to experience fine dining at discount prices, is scheduled to run from November 17 to November 26. This information, as well as the information available during yesterday’s fair will be circulated via the media and posted to the organisation’s Facebook and Instagram pages. (Photo by Keno George)
