Kitty teen remanded over cutlass wielding robberies

18-year-old, Junior Lewis, was yesterday remanded to prison for two alleged robberies while armed with a cutlass.

Lewis, who is unemployed, and of Pike Street, Kitty, on November 4th 2017, allegedly robbed Davina Persaud in Kingston, of one Samsung Galaxy mobile phone valued at $25,000.

On the said date, in Kingston, Lewis allegedly also robbed Vishal Mohan of one Samsung Galaxy mobile phone valued at $15,000 and $2,000 cash.

The teen pleaded not guilty to both charges, but the prosecutor objected to bail based on the seriousness of the two offences.

Magistrate Fabayo Azore denied Lewis bail and remanded him to prison.

The matter was adjourned to December 6th.
