Cop charged with sales girl’s death, DUI after Ogle accident

A police officer was on Wednesday faced with five charges, including causing the death of pedestrian Anastacia Kerr by dangerous driving and driving under the influence.

Lance Corporal 17329 Williams, a resident of Cumming’s Lodge and who is attached to the police force’s headquarters, appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magis-trate’s aaa.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on September 17, at Ogle Public Road, East Coast Demerara, he drove motor vehicle PSS 3984 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Kerr. He was granted his release on $150,000 bail in relation to the charge.
