The Mayor and City Council (M&CC), through a partnership with GTT, on Tuesday launched its Mobile Money payment platform, which now allows rate payers to pay rates and taxes using the application.

The service is available to users of both GTT and Digicel, and only requires rate payers to be familiar with their account number, which can be found on their receipts and demand notices, or accessed through the M&CC’s office.

“As long as you have a cellphone that means you have access and the ability to pay your rates and tax. What you need is your property number or account number and that number will allow you to make the payment so that when city council sees that on the mobile money platform, we know who to assign the money to,” Adunni Christian, M&CC’s Information Technology Manager related.

Persons interested in using Mobile Money to pay their rates and taxes can visit any of its locations, where an agent will assist in setting up the service.
