Corentyne women, labourer on $400, 000 bail each for alleged cattle theft

Two Corentyne women and a labourer were jointly charged last Friday with stealing some forty head of cattle.

Sandreena Sanichar, 23, and Stephanie Drepaul, 25, both of Lot 85, Letter Kenny Village, Corentyne and Suraj Persaud, 27, a labourer of Lot 4, Tain Settlement, Corentyne appeared at the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court, where they were jointly charged. The charge read that the trio between Thursday, November 16 and Monday, November 20 at No.62 Village, Corentyne stole forty head of cow, valued at $3 million, property of Nandkishore Tajram.  The unrepresented trio were each placed on $400,000 bail.

Stabroek News was told that all three accused have since posted bail and will return to the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court on December 20.
