The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry on Tuesday hosted their annual donation and 2018 calendar launch at their Corporate office in Kingston.

Every year the bank gives back to 10 Non-Governmental Organisations. Each organisation receives a monetary donation. These are organisations that help the poor and the vulnerable throughout the year. The 10 organisations that received donations this year are, Uncle Eddie’s Home, The Salvation Army, Dharm Shala Benevolent Home, Help and Shelter, Artistes in Direct Support, Guyana Red Cross Society, Guyana Society for the Blind, Guyana Relief Council, Guyana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Food for the Poor.

After receiving their donations, the Public Relations Manager of Food for the Poor, Wayne Hamilton expressed gratitude to the bank for their continuing support. He stated that Food for the Poor has contributed significantly to the wellbeing of the people of Guyana over their approximately 26 years of service. He then assured the representatives of the bank that 95% of the donations will be used to help the poor and poorest of this country.
