Corentyne cane harvester in hospital after chopping

A Port Mourant, Corentyne man is now in the Port Mourant Hospital after he sustained an incised wound in his face during an altercation on Sunday.

Avinash Khedaroo, 20, a cane harvester, was rushed to the Port Mourant hospital sometime around 7 on Sunday evening.

While Khedaroo’s relatives and friends who were present at the hospital yesterday refused to speak with this newspaper, a police source noted, that the cane harvester was wounded in a confrontation with another man.

The source noted, that the accused is presently on the run, however, he stressed, that the police are making all efforts to place him under arrest. “We have already gotten statements from persons in the area and the police are conducting their investigation”, said the source.
