Probe after US casino convict arrives in T&T

(Trinidad Express) American citizen David Gerard Migliore, a convicted felon who was recently released from prison in the United States, entered this country last week, triggering an investigation.
This was confirmed by Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi on Saturday following a query from the Express.
In 2014, Migliore, 54, the owner of several New Jersey businesses, was sentenced to 46 months in prison for evading taxes on income from his ownership of the Island Club casino in Trinidad, costing the United States approximately US$1.3 million in tax losses.
This country’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) was instrumental in providing information to the US authorities on Migliore.
