T&T pharmacist, 65, murdered

(Trinidad Express) Pharmacist Raziah Sieuchan was found stabbed to death in her Lange Park, Chaguanas, home yesterday.

Sieuchan, 65, was discovered by police officers at around 3a.m.

Central Division police responded to a report of a disturbance at a house along Ring Road and found the elderly woman.

Police said the house was ransacked and initial reports suggest the motive was robbery.

The mother of three was stabbed multiple times about the body and her throat was slit.

The Express was told that Sieuchan owned a pharmacy in St Helena.

She was described by neighbours as a quiet, hard working woman.

Homicide officers visited the scene and are continuing investigations.

Dr Omar Ali, founder of the now defunct Lange Park Management Security Company, said Sieuchan’s death reminded residents of the kidnapping and murder of businesswoman Vindra Naipaul-Coolman.

He said there had been a significant reduction in crime in Lange Park in recent months.

“The Vindra Naipaul murder was the most memorable in this area. And now this one, we remember the Vindra Naipaul case,” he said.
