Brother charged in murder of Malabar caregiver, 13-year-old boy…

(Trinidad Express) The younger brother of Haffiza Rose Mohammed, 56, on Monday appeared before an Arima magistrate charged with her murder as well as that of her 13-year-old neighbour, Videsh Subar.

Solomon Baksh, of Ajim Baksh Trace, Mala-bar, stood in silence as he appeared before Senior Magistrate Gillian David Scotland at the Arima Magistrates’ First Court. Baksh, police said, lived next door to his sister.

Wayne Liverpool, 25, of Sangre Grande, is jointly charged with the two murders.

The two accused were also charged with ten offences of robbery.

It was alleged that they stole an estimated TT$30,000 in cash and valuables, which included a cellular phone, a Milwaukee jack-hammer, a DeWalt hammer drill, a Milwaukee drill kit with pliers, a 32-inch LG flat-screen television, a double link gold chain, a spring-shape gold ring, TT$10,000 in cash, US$900 in cash, and a national identification card.
