T&T Met Office in weather warning

(Trinidad Express) The Meteorological Services on Tuesday advised the public to pay attention to an area of disturbed weather east of the Lesser Antilles, now heading west which and could strengthen into a tropical storm in three to four days.

“Regardless of intensification, this disturbance will trigger moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday, across portions of the Windward Islands, north of Trinidad and Tobago,” warned the Met Services.

They issued its first bulletin about the event and said that at 2 p.m. yesterday it was moving west at 30 km/h.

They added that it was not well defined and it is being impacted by dry Sahara dust but despite such there is a 40 per cent chance (medium) that it can develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours and a 50 per cent chance of tropical cyclone development in the next the to four days.
