T&T mom knifed to death in Barataria

(Trinidad Express) A woman was knifed to death at her home shortly after midnight on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Tabatha Richards, 44, of Sixth Avenue, Barataria.

Her 18-year-old daughter, Missy Richards, is warded in a serious condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital, with stab wounds.

Police say Missy Richards was outside her home when she had an altercation with a 17-year-old girl over a boy.

During the altercation, Missy Richards was stabbed multiple times.

Tabatha Richards, police were told, on seeing her daughter under attack, attempted to intervene to save her daughter.

She too was stabbed.

Neighbours intervened and separated the two parties.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the wounded persons were rushed to the Hospital.

Tabatha Richards died shortly after.

Her daughter was said to have been in a serious condition.

The 17-year-old girl was detained by officers of the North Eastern Division.

She was questioned, before being handed over to officials from the Homicide Bureau.

On Saturday evening, 79-year-old Claire Broadbridge was found stabbed to death at her St Ann’s home.

On Monday morning, 76-year-old Ramdevi Singh, was found dead in the living room of her house at Imam Shah Street, Chaguanas.
